Zendaya made headlines at the 2015 Oscars with her gorgeous ‘do above. The actress rocked these beautiful faux locs which caused naturalistas around the world to offer a standing ovation and a synchronized “yasss”. However, E!’s Fashion Police cohost Giuliana Rancic clearly was not a fan of Zendaya’s hair style, stating that the talented fashionista looked like she “smells of patchouli oil and weed.”
The then 18-year-old starlet handled this situation and responded to the critics with poise and maturity which Mattel took note of, thus honoring Zendaya with a one-of-a-kind replica doll of her Oscars 2015 red carpet look. She encourages not just her fans, but people of all ages, to Raise Their Voice and #BeSuper.
While on a visit at the Barbie headquarters, Zendaya told Yahoo:
“When I was little, I didn’t have one that looked like me, so I couldn’t connect with her in that way. But getting to visit the Mattel offices and see Barbie’s vision for the future… it was really cool. I was able to see how they plan to diversify, broadening the horizons and the image of Barbie, and make it more, you know, open. I left the office feeling it was definitely something I wanted to be a part of.”

Last week I tried Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensively Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream. This product, which is infused with argan oil and apricot, provides long-lasting frizz control and shine.
As a self proclaimed hair product junky I was thrilled to even have a new product in my hand. Although I already have a staple leave in (Shea Moisture JBCO leave-in) Garnier Fructic super exceeded my expectations! It not only smelled amazing but it also left my hair super soft and moisturized with an amazingly defined braid out.
After washing my hair I allowed it to hair dry for a few hours until damp and then used the leave-in for my braid out. I usually follow up with a styling product but I wanted to see how the leave-in would work with my hair alone. Because of the torrential rain NYC experienced this weekend my braid out did not last as long as it would of if I used a styler (preferably Eco gel) but I still loved my first few days of results.
Overall this is a great product, so great that it might even be my new staple leave-in, but shhh don’t tell Shea Moisture 🙂
Check out L’oreal’s new Pro-Matte Foundation. It’s air-light formula lasts for 24 hours and provides a super smooth and natural complexion. It’s matte finish reduces shine which is a plus! Get yours today!
I won the new Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension Kit in a giveaway from Physicians Formula. This DIY extension kit transforms your lashes like no other mascara. The trick is in the application of the fibers. Below are a few pictures that show how I achieved super long and full lashes in only 2 minutes.
This is the box that the mascara and fibers came in. On the back is a step by step guide on how to achieve the best lashes possible.
This is how my lashes look before I applied the mascara
Step one: apply one coat of Lash Boosting Mascara.
Step two: brush on fiber extensions while mascara is still wet to instantly build lashes
Step three: reapply Lash Boosting Mascara to seal & set extensions.
You can repeat steps two and three for extra drama.
Overall I love how this product drastically changed my lashes and although I do not plan on using this as my daily mascara it is definitely my go to when I want a little extra fullness and length on special occasions.
